ImageGear .NET is currently able to convert documents to adhere to the PDF/A-1A and PDF/A-1B standards:
PDF/A-1: http://www.loc.gov/preservation/digital/formats/fdd/fdd000125.shtml
ImageGear and PDF/A: http://help.accusoft.com/ImageGear-Net/v24.6/Windows/HTML/webframe.html#topic6029.html
Creating documents to adhere to the PDF/A guidelines is important for long-term document preservation. The PDF/A-1 was based off of Adobe's PDF 1.4. The newer releases, PDF/A-2 and PDF/A-3, are based on PDF 1.7. The new standards allow for a wider range of files to be preserved for long term use. Some documents which fail to adhere to the PDF/A-1 standards are accepted by the new standards (detailed in the two loc.gov links below). As a customer, I would like the ability to convert my documents to PDF/A-2 and PDF/A-3 in ImageGear .NET so I can use your product to convert more of my documents for long term preservation.
