As a customer, I would like the ability to set a hard limit on the size that the cache folder can reach

There is not currently a setting to restrict how long files exist in the cache folder, or a setting to restrict how large the cache folder may expand. Accusoft details a way to clean the cache folder in the link below, but manually deleting cache files with a script requires shutting down PrizmDoc services.

As a customer, I would like the ability to cap the maximum size the cache folder can reach. In scenarios with limited hard drive space, and/or problems that swell the cache folder beyond the expected range, being able to configure the maximum size of the cache folder would prevent bloating the hard drive.

At the moment it is not possible, to limit the cache size and the PrizmDoc Server does not handle the situation when no space is left on device.

On high load systems this leads to massive problems, a 50GB space hardisk for the cache directory is often not enough. In my opinion there is room for multiple improvements:

    • Limit the cache size to a maximum size
    • Prevent the harddisk getting full to the last byte, even if the cache limit is not set
    • Show the filling status of the cache in the admin interface (including a warning, if the configuration does not fit the size of the disk)

It is possible to restrict how long a file remain in cache. Please see the link above that details this and other caching strategies which include recommended best practices.
